Construction Scope
We are excited to announce Fort Riley's project scope.
Picerne assumed management of family housing at Fort Riley in July 2006. During the initial 10-year development period, Picerne is expanding the inventory of homes from 3,114 to 3,827 through a combination of renovation, demolition and new construction. In total, 2,117 new homes will be constructed, all of them designed with either three or four bedrooms.
In total, more than 600 medium renovations and 475 minor renovations are currently planned in neighborhoods throughout the post. A new neighborhood, Forsyth, has been introduced and has subsequently developed into the largest residential neighborhood. Upon completion, it will encompass a total of 1,389 homes.
As part of the commitment to create a more comfortable and enjoyable family environment, Picerne is introducing community oriented Neighborhood Centers, with features and amenities that include swimming pools, fitness facilities, multi-purpose rooms, club rooms and children’s playrooms. The first Neighborhood Center opened in the Forsyth Neighborhood in 2009. The second neighborhood center debuted in 2010, in the McClellan Neighborhood. A third center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011 in the Warner Peterson area. These popular centers range in size from more than 6,000 square feet to over 13,000 square feet. Construction of a fourth facility is scheduled to begin in 2011. Parks, playgrounds and a four-mile walking trail (in the new Forsyth neighborhood) are also being introduced.
