Community Garden
The Fort Riley Community Victory Garden is a community garden located in the Forsyth neighborhood. Plots are available to all Picerne Military Housing residents on a first come, first served basis. Plot requests can be made by submitting a request form. Forms can be dropped off at the Forsyth Neighborhood Center or emailed to the address below.
This is a great opportunity to grow and tend your own vegetable garden. Families that participate can experience many benefits from gardening including:
- Improved quality of life for families who garden together
- Social interaction with neighbors
- Self-reliance
- Nutritious food
- Opportunity to reduce family food budgets (a 20’x20’ plot can yield approx. $400 of produce)
- Conserves resources
- Creates opportunity for recreation, exercise, therapy and education
- Volunteer and leadership opportunities with the Fort Riley Community Victory Garden Association
